Jazz Camp

When: Monday 9 July - Friday 13 July 2012
Where: WAAPA, Edith Cowan University, 2 Bradford Street, Mount Lawley

The centerpiece of the JazzNOW! program, Jazz Camp, is tailored towards students aged 12-17 and held annually in the first week of the July school holidays. The 2012 JazzNOW! Jazz Camp is now open for online registrations but places are limited with only 60 spots available for students. Jazz Camp consists of a series of clinics, master classes, performances and jam sessions delivered by some of Australia's finest jazz performers and educators, including Libby who will be tutoring the vocalists. Students will get the chance to perform together in small and large ensembles, improve their technique on their chosen instrument, learn about and experiment with jazz improvisation as well as meet other young aspiring jazz musicians from metropolitan and regional schools across WA.

Jazz Camp has been running annually since its inception in 2001 and many Jazz Camp alumni have gone on to graduate from the WAAPA jazz program and establish successful musical careers in Australia and around the world. Registrations close Monday 2 July.
